Deep in the mountains, a young man is caught up in a blood feud that has plagued his family for generations. With one month to live, he must make an impossible choice: break the cycle to fight for love, or surrender to fate. Broken April explores the true cost of forgiveness in a world of hate.

The Director’s Bio:

Arthur Makaryan is the recipient of the 2017-18 Opera Directing Fellowship at the Juilliard School. He holds masters' degrees from La Sorbonne University in Paris and the Yerevan State Institute of Theater and Cinematography. He has assisted directors throughout Europe and the United States. He is trained in the acting methods of Stanislavski, Grotowski, Suzuki, Barba and Chekhov. He co-founded Epsidon Theatre company in Armenia in 2012 where he staged two musicals. In 2014, he made his Avignon Off festival debut with A la vie, a la mort performance by Simone Rist. For more information, visit Arthur’s official website: arthurmakaryan.com.

The Playwright’s Bio: 

Ned Moore is a theatre artist and writer based in New York City. His translation of Euripides’ Bakkhai premiered at The Fisher Center for Performing Arts in 2013, directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz. Bakkhai was restaged in 2015 at the Marigny Opera House in New Orleans, directed by Ned Moore. Since then, Ned has received fellowships from The Croatian National Theatre, The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, Tulane University, and Columbia University.  His critical writing appears in Culturebot and TDF Stages magazines.
